What will happen?

We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the place where the motor trike hang glider does the flights. There are two different locations. On some days flights are from the Daugava river, on some from the former Soviet airport. Once you send us the inquiry with the exact date when you plan to do Riga hang gliding, we contact the pilot and then let you know will the flight be from the river or from the airport. You can choose between 10 min flight and 15 min flight.

Riga hang gliding is a great activity as it combines two things together. You get to see Riga from a completely different point of view while getting a dose of adrenaline.

From above you will see the places which you have already visited and who knows, maybe will find some new spot/place you would like to go to.

It takes 10 min to arrive at a place where the flight starts on the Daugava river or 15 min if it starts from the airport. The hang gliding instructor who is an experienced pilot will help you to enjoy the magic of flight and will take care of your safety. After such a heavenly activity you will be driven back either to your hotel or the old town of Riga.

If you book a hang gliding flight over Riga as a surprise for your partner or stag/bride to be, please tell us in advance so the driver will keep quiet about the surprise until the very last moment.

If you take a micoSD memory card with you, you can give it to the motor trike hang glider pilot for memorable photos and videos of your flight. If you don`t have a microSD card, you can order photos to be taken and shared by you via Dropbox cloud storage. This service costs an extra 5 EUR. Please let us know in advance if you want us to take care of your photos/video.

Flight from river or airport?

Both hang gliding flights are provided by one pilot. If the flight is taking off from the airport, that means on that day the flights from the river won`t be available and vice versa. The biggest difference is the flight route each of those two locations provides. Please check the map of the flight route and let us know which option you prefer. If you are fine with any of the two, we will confirm the flight offered by a pilot.

Riga Hang gliding for larger groups

We can offer only one hang glider at a time and it is a two-seated (a pilot and one passenger). You have to add 5 minutes between the flights (for people to swap), thus, if you book 10 minutes flight, 4 of you will be able to fly within 1 hour. If you book 15 min flight, 3 people can do it within 1 hour. Please keep this in mind when planning your schedule for the day. We can also divide your group into smaller ones, the day, thus while 4 people are at the former airport, the rest are spending their time in hotel/old town or at some other activity.

What can we do at the venue?

If you book a flight from the Spilve airport, there is just a parking lot 30 meters from where the hang gliders take off, where you will be spending time, waiting for your turn. If you want, the driver can take you to a petrol station (coffee/soft drinks or snacks) which is 800 meters away from the parking lot.

If you book a flight from Daugava River, there is a grocery store and a bakery next to it, where you can have some pastries and tea/coffee while waiting your turn.

Why the price is higher if one, two or three people do Riga hang gliding?

We write `price from 55 EUR/pp` because that is the lowest possible price available and is valid if 4 tourists share a transfer with regular car or 6-8 people travel in a 9seat van. If you are a solo traveler, couple or a group of 3, we still might offer lowest possible price (if we have other tourists to add you to).
